Pagode Giac Vien, Quan Am statue

Giac Vien pagoda was built by Master Huong Dang in 1805 in honour of Emperor Gia Long. At first it was a thatched-roof hut used for worshipping Bodhisattva and was named Kwan-Yin Pavilion (Quan Am Cac). In 1850 under king Tu Duc's reign, it was renamed Giac Vien Pagoda by Chan Master Hai Tinh. Giac Vien Pagoda has typical features, of southern Vietnam. It conserves more than 150 statues and engravings, most of which date from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.
