Centre-ville, Malaysia Tourism Centre

MTC- Malaysia Tourism Centre was built in 1935. It's known as the Eu Tong Sen Residence. This English Cottage style building was erected to serve as the residence of a wealthy miner and planter named Eu Tong Sen. In 1941, it housed the war office of the British Army. During the Second World War, it became the headquarters of the Japanese Imperial Army till the end of the war in 1945. During the same year, the new government of then Federation of Malay took ownership of the building. In 1989, it became the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MTC)- a tourism centre with information and services, a theatre and the Saloma Restaurant.
