The gate, welcomes visitors into My Tho city, marks the milestone the 330 yrs establishment of My Tho (1679-2009). In 1679, Dương Ngạn Địch a Chinese Governor under Minh Dynasty and about 3,000 people in Minh Huong district- China emigrated into Vietnam and Chua Nguyen Nguyễn Phúc Tần accepted them to live in My tho. So, the gate marks the milestone to welcome 330 yrs of the establishment of My Tho (1679-2009).
