Montagne Sleza, Way

The way to the top of mountain Ślęża from Pass Tąpadła in autumn 2011. Ślęża is 718 meters high, it was the saint mountain of Celts and Slavs. Pagan rites were celebrated here already in Iron Age (1700-400 years B.Ch.) The iconic sculptures comes from the Latens Period (400 B.Ch.) Here worshiped the Sun and the Moon. Nearly the advent of Christianity in Middle-ages closed the times of pagan rites. Till now survived the few ancient sculptures: the Monk, two Bears and Lady with Fish, and the Mushroom.
